Camping residential

Friday Project

This year we took a group of young people working with Street Reach on a three-day camping and activity residential at Fairthorne Manor, Curdridge.  Young people attended from across our range of projects.  The trip was made possible by a generous grant from the Gannett Foundation.
The young people took part in a range of outdoor activities, including Crate Stack Challenge, Jacob’s Ladder, Zip Wire and Fire Lighting.  Participants also got to take part in Wide Games, and on the final night we had a campfire.  The Camping Residential is a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain confidence as individuals as well as developing team work skills.
On the morning that we returned, the group spent some time reflecting on the trip where they each chose another member of the group and recognised their efforts.
This is a project we are committed to offering every year to young people that we are supporting.  We look forward to planning next year’s trip!
