Winchester Street Reach is recruiting for the position of Operations Manager. The role is for Maternity Cover for a minimum of 8-months.

Working closely with the management team, you’ll be in charge of our operational staff and resources, making sure everything runs smoothly day in and day out.

Salary: £28,000-32,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Provide day-to-day management of Winchester Street Reach, implementing the charity’s range of projects and activities to the agreed outcomes and budget.

Key responsibilities:

Management

  • To be responsible for the implementation of the charity’s projects and activities which contribute to the effective delivery of its services.
  • To manage the team of operational staff and volunteers, leading by example to ensure that targets are met and continuity of delivery is in line with the vision, core values and principles of Winchester Street Reach.
  • To manage projects, administrative activities and functions; coordinating, and implementing systems, policies and procedures.
  • To act as the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO).
  • To implement processes for the gathering agreed performance date in order to support the evaluation of projects against target outcomes.

Finance and resources

  • To deliver the charity’s range of projects and activities to the agreed budget.
  • To ensure the effective and efficient use of resources and to assist in the identification and acquisition of further resources that enhance service delivery.
  • To bring understanding of front line delivery and service user needs to input into the creation of new or updated project proposals.

External and internal relations

  • To seek out and participate in forums which are relevant to the work and goals of the charity, including multi-agency meetings, networking, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
  • To actively promoting the services of the charity through appropriate channels and platforms, upholding and promoting the charity’s activities and ethos.
  • To share responsibility for the cultivation of relations to stakeholders, partner organisations and external audiences, ensuring the relevant agencies are aware of the charity and have the necessary materials and information.

Leadership

  • To provide high-quality, visible leadership, to the staff and volunteer team, motivating and inspiring them to achieve project objectives.
  • To develop and maintain an environment that attracts and retains the best staff and volunteers.

Recruitment and retention of staff and volunteers

  • To be responsible for recruiting, selecting, inducting, training and evaluating the staff and volunteer team.
  • To manage the continuous professional development of the staff and volunteer team through the identification of external training opportunities and the provision of in-house training initiatives.
  • To lead on the growth of the charity’s volunteer structure.
