Our roles are unique and rewarding, with part-time hours to fit around your other interests and commitments. The work is based in Winchester and the surrounding areas.
Street Reach are a trusted service for young people, with a strong local reputation. You’ll be joining our team at an exciting time; our charity is growing in order to respond to the current needs of young people, particularly around mental health and issues of isolation. We have a range of projects taking place and we will be increasing this provision during 2022. We’ve also received a national grant for a mobile youth bus, to help our work engaging and supporting young people out on the streets- we can’t wait to put this to use!

Project Lead Youth Worker, Part-time
18.5 hours per week
Salary: £12.00 per hour
- Mondays: 5 – 9pm (4 hours)
- Tuesdays 6 – 8:30pm (2.5 hours)
- Fridays 11 – 5pm (6 hours)
- Fridays 5:30pm – 8pm (2.5 hours) *this shift is on a Rota of around 1-in-3

The Project Lead Youth Worker role is a senior role with the responsibility of overseeing the delivery of our range of project sessions, including outreach sessions, Friday Football and targeted workshops. This is an exciting role where the successful candidate will have the responsibility of planning engaging and creative sessions to help young people keep safe and lead healthy lives. The role will involve training and supporting the youth work team and working closely with the Operational Lead worker. You will also help lead sessions around topics such as substance misuse in local Secondary Schools.
The successful candidate must have experience in planning and delivering work with young people or vulnerable adults. We are keen to receive applications from those with previous experience in health and social care roles including in Youth Offending, as well as arts or sports leaders. Please be aware this is not an entry-level position. It is a requirement to have a Driver’s License for this role.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to creatively engage young people that may be vulnerable or ‘hard to reach’. We are looking for a reliable and strong team player, who leads by example.
Youth Worker, Part-time (2x Vacancies)
6 hours per week
Salary: £10.50 per hour
- Mondays: 6 – 9pm: Street-based Outreach
- Tuesdays: 6 – 8:30pm: Street-based Outreach
- Fridays: 5:30 – 8pm: *on a rota of around 1 in 3 shifts Friday Football Project
Our Youth Workers deliver street-based youth work and centre-based project sessions to young people in order to engage them, keep them safe and help them lead healthy lives. Our youth workers have a strong awareness of the issues impacting young people and are relatable. These positions are professional roles and full training is provided.
We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills who can offer support and guidance to young people as part of the Street Reach team. You do not have to have held the position of Youth Worker before, but you will be a confident communicator with a passion for working with young people, and you will be able to inspire them.
Volunteer Youth Workers
One evening shift per week, from one of the following:
- Mondays: 6 – 9:00pm: Micheldever Youth Club or Street-based Outreach
- Tuesdays: 6 – 8:30pm: Street-based Outreach
- Fridays: 5:30 – 8pm: Friday Football Project
Winchester Street Reach are looking to recruit Volunteer Youth Workers to join our team, helping us to deliver a variety of projects to engage young people. You will help make a difference by reaching out to and supporting young people that may be vulnerable or experiencing disadvantage, working to help them keep safe, helping them to recognise their strengths, and supporting them to reach their full potential. Full training given, including around Safeguarding, First Aid, Working with a Trauma-informed approach, and Managing Challenging behaviour. We also offer more advanced training to well-established volunteers, including around Relationships and Sex Education, and Drug and Alcohol interventions.
Shifts are flexible, with mileage or travel expenses to projects paid as per our terms.
All roles are subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check.
